ACCA F4 Exam Capabilities  

The outcomes of the F4 exam for students will be:

1. Identifying the essential elements of the legal system, including the main sources of law

2. Recognising and applying the appropriate legal rules relating to the law of obligations

3. Explaining and applying the law relating to employment relationships

4. Distinguishing between alternative forms and constitutions of business organisations

5. Recognising and comparing types of capital and the financing of companies

6. Describing and explaining how companies are managed, administered and regulated

7. Recognising the legal implications relating to insolvency law

8. Demonstrating an understanding of corporate fraudulent and criminal behaviour.

ACCA F4 Exam Format and Structure

  • A 2 hour exam
  • A pass mark of 50%
  • Section A will contain contains 25 x 2 mark objective test question (50%) and 20 x 1 mark objective questions (20%)
  • Section B will contain 5 x 6 mark multi-task questions (30%)
  • All questions are compulsory

ACCA F4 Corporate and Business Law Syllabus

The F4 Corporate and Business Law exam is one of the six papers that need to be completed within the 'Skills' module. The 'Skills' module is the second and final module at the Fundamentals level.

In order to proceed to the next level, 'Professional', all exams must be successfully completed. However please note that exams do not need to taken in any specific order (e.g. F5 can be completed first followed by F4, F6 and so on).

The aim of the F4 exam is to develop knowledge and skills in the understanding of the general legal framework and

of specific legal areas relating to business.
